HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — A man charged with murder and sexual torture has been deemed ‘competent to stand trial’ following Alabama Department of Mental Health evaluations.
Kyle Lewter is charged with murder and sexual torture for the killing of Derek Walls in March.
The judge in the case has granted a defense request for a mental health evaluation. In court filings, the defense said Lewter had significant mental health problems.
