“This current Trump administration is perhaps the most blatantly corrupt, incompetent and authoritarian administration in the history of the United States. It has also become the most unpopular administration as well. This Trump administration is like the Nixon administration on steroids. There is no respect for the rule of law and the constitution.
Donald Trump has hijacked the Republican party. The party that gave the country Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagan has become the party of Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has turned what was once a conservative political party into a personality cult centered around Donald Trump. Normally independent congressional Republicans are genuflecting to Donald Trump while some supporters view him as the second coming of the Messiah.
But, that is cracking in front of the country and world now. The public is horrified by ICE agents that now have murdered civilians on the streets of an American city and the Trump administration is blatantly lying about it.
Then, at the same time, Donald Trump is at a conference in Europe where he is alienating our European allies and trading partners. He imposes tariffs in response to a personal slight, while ignoring that the power to levy tariffs rests with congress according to the constitution. However, an emergency clause does give the President the authority to levy tariffs in the event of an emergency. But, what is the “emergency”?
This is what happens when the congress is afraid to challenge the President, who now has assumed almost dictatorial power.”
