Trump Welcomes Russia to Attack Our Elections
Our ability to hold democratic elections is in serious trouble thanks to Donald Trump, and it’s all by design.
Over the past week, actions by the Trump administration have effectively gutted the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which is our first line of defense against cyber threats to our elections.
CISA has now been all but stripped of its power as Trump has put its election staff on leave.

It doesn’t stop there.
A recent memo has stopped “all election security activities” pending an internal review.
They’ve completely withdrawn funding for the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (El-ISAC).
And — surprise — analysts were told NOT to follow or report on Russian threats.
Trump administration retreats in fight against Russian cyber threats
Not that we could catch Putin on our networks anyway since our very ability to detect and respond to threats is now compromised. As one election official put it, “We are effectively flying blind.”
Just like everything else the Trump administration is doing, the gutting of CISA aligns perfectly with Project 2025. It’s all in there, folks!
And Donald Trump is coming right out and saying he doesn’t think Russia represents a cyber threat against US national security, which is just about one of the most brazen lies he’s ever told.
This could be catastrophic for our country — and by the way, Russia’s cyber espionage campaigns go way beyond our elections. They infect government agencies and American businesses. We know this for a fact because we’ve reported on Russia’s attacks.
Having free and fair elections is a cornerstone of our democracy. Donald Trump has — multiple times — joked about serving more than two terms as president.
He’s “joked” about being a king. He has a slew of MAGA fans who care nothing for democracy and bow to him as an idol (zero hyperbole) and intend to make this a reality.
Donald Trump adores Putin.
CISA matters. It matters that we’ve turned off protections against Russian cyber attacks. This is not a partisan issue, and it’s something we all have to pay attention to before it’s too late.
