Apparently, a person was caught training a gun on Trump through a fence while he golfed in Florida. Thankfully, before he was able to shoot, he was shot at and then fled and apprehended.

There is no place for this kind of violence in our society.
@DirtRoadPickup has an idea of how we got here.

The MAGA talking point is that Democrat rhetoric leads to assassination attempts. Pure gaslighting. Since 2016, Trump has broken all standards of decency, civility, restraint and responsibility in political rhetoric. Anyone that denies this is either un-educated or dishonest.

Trump called for his opponent to be put in jail in 2016. He made of fun of Pelosi’s husband being violently attacked. He retweeted images of Biden being gagged and hog tied in 2020. He called to terminate the Constitution. He led a fake elector plot and a riot on the capital to pressure his VP into violating his oath and overturning the election.

His rhetoric caused J6. He pressured GA election officials into lying about the vote count. His own generals, admirals, his cabinet, his staff and his own VP have said he is a threat to the constitution. Calling attention to this is not rhetoric – it’s truth.

He and his supporters constantly say Harris and the Democrats are communists that hate America and want to destroy it. His speech writer, Stephen Miller, is known for his ‘American Carnage’ themes. He retweets Laura Loomer constantly and travels the country with her.

Trump and Vance spent days whipping up a mob against LEGAL immigrants in Ohio, completely fabricated lies which led to bomb threats, shooting threats, school closures, hospital closures.

Trump randomly tweeted ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT’ on a Sunday afternoon, directly attacking a private citizen and putting her at risk.

I could go on. If you’re looking for the source of the dangerous rhetoric – it is Trump. Hopefully, he loses very soon and we can turn the page on this disaster.

And…

Violence is obviously wrong. But nothing that happened yesterday changes the facts. The GOP nominee called to terminate the Constitution over an election his own legal team repeatedly told him he lost. No one put words in his mouth – he did that.

He pressured Republican officials in GA to lie about the results, on tape. He knowingly lied to his supporters for weeks, told them their country had been stolen from them, scammed them out of $250M (where did the Stop the Steal money go?) got them all whipped up and enraged, leading to a disgraceful, deadly riot on the capital during the peaceful transfer of power.

During that riot, a militia of his most loyal supporters were calling to hang his VP in order to pressure him into certifying fake electors to overturn the election so he could stay in power. All this over an election he knew he lost.

He is mentally unstable and reckless. He intentionally divides us and brings chaos, constantly. He can’t just be normal and act decent; he’s incapable of that.

His former VP says he’s a threat to the constitution and refuses to even endorse him. His cabinet and administration officials largely won’t support him for another term. Many of them have said he’s dangerously unfit, incompetent, and a threat to the country.

None of this is ‘inciteful rhetoric’. These are facts. This election is an interview for the most important job in the world, and this is all the truth.
