A 20-year old man named Thomas Matthew Crooks, a registered Republican with no prior criminal record, attempted to shoot Donald Trump and ended up killing one person and injuring two others critically. Trump’s ear was grazed by the glass that shattered from the teleprompter.
Many actual Republicans are really sick of hearing MAGAts and talking heads suddenly decrying violence and blaming the ‘left’ when the MAGA movement and their leaders have actively been promoting violence against regular good Republicans in their own party, for the last 8 years.
They have absolutely NO moral standing to talk about anyone else’s violence, and most certainly brought this on themselves.
You may have forgotten that we had an ex-president who said things like ‘punch them in the face’, ‘I am your retribution’, and ‘I could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and not lose support’. (His lawyers even argued that he should have this right, in court!)
This is an ex-president whose minions have, for the past 8 years, been threatening to kill people for simply supporting someone else in the primary, and who have caused such terrorism against ordinary people that they have had to move from their homes. People have even had their pets shot.
And please don’t bring up ANTIFA which was NOT connected to, or done on behalf of, any public figure. This is an ex-president who was directly connected to inciting a violent insurrection on J6 and who now, along with his minions, is still condoning that violence by calling those rioters ‘heroes’ and ‘patriots’, and claiming he is for ‘law and order’ even after sitting by while watching them beat the heck out of 140 capitol police.
Consider this was a president who, when told his VP’s life was in danger, simply replied that ‘maybe he deserved it’ and did nothing to stop it. He’s now replacing the national anthem at his rallies with a song that was created by the J6 jailbirds. Remember that Trump posted a meme that suggested Liz Cheney be taken before military tribunals, suggesting she should be killed. She did nothing wrong. He also wanted to execute General Milley. One surrogate suggested the wife of another candidate should be gang raped.
The idea that this will be another reason for MAGA to grift is sickening.
I have never had my life threatened by a liberal, only a TRUMP LIBERAL, for simply not wanting to support DJT.
