The crisis, of course, is one of his making, stemming from his abrupt decision to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House grounds because of their “negative” coverage, a prohibition he himself called a “ban on the free press.” The five networks that make up the rotating pool that provides television coverage of the president’s events — ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox and NBC — decided to stop filming him, to demonstrate their objections.
