Attacks on Jack Smith Will NOT Be Forgotten

Legislators in the Senate Judiciary Committee who are attacking Jack Smith in today’s hearing should be ashamed. We will NOT forget who you are and what you did.

So sickening to see our legislators lashing out at Jack Smith for his legitimate desire to prosecute Trump for multiple crimes including stealing secret documents and storing them in a public place, asking a state to ‘find’ him some votes to allow him to win, and inciting a devastating attack on the capitol by repeating a fake claim that 2020 election was rigged.

One Senator called Smith a “dirt bag” and another said he wanted to “throw up in my mouth”.

Senator Schmitt made personal attacks on Jack Smith. “You will go down as a total Dirtbag”, he said.

The only ‘dirt bag’ in this instance is Senator Schmitt and anyone else who is defending Donald J. Trump and his crimes.

Claiming Smith was using ‘lawfare’ against Trump is just sickening, cowardly and reeks of criminality.

Shame on you @SenateGOP @HouseGOP.

Also, Senator Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atlanta to go to a Hawks game to collude with Fani Willis, and briefly displayed his “evidence” on a poster board before accusing Smith of perjury. There’s just one problem — Schmitt’s facts were totally wrong. Smith was actually in Maryland at a Hawkeyes (not a Hawks) game and never met Willis. As Klobuchar told him, “You have your teams wrong.”
