Dozens of UN delegates staged a mass walkout and booed as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approached the podium at the United Nations General Assembly.
Scores of diplomats from more than 50 countries left the UN General Assembly hall in New York as Netanyahu began his address.
The exit was accompanied by loud boos, some applause, and repeated calls for order from the chair banging the gavel.
The coordinated protest reflected widespread international opposition to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza and criticism over rejected Palestinian statehood recognitions.
