These words, exposed under oath by Cassidy Hutchinson completely shatter any lingering myth that January 6th was a peaceful protest that unexpectedly got out of hand.
The commander-in-chief knew exactly what was standing just outside the security perimeter. He was fully briefed that thousands of his followers were heavily armed with firearms, knives, and chemical sprays. Yet, his only grievance wasn’t the threat of impending bloodshed—it was that the security checkpoints were making his television audience look too small.
The sheer malice of this directive lies in its calculating selfishness. By demanding the removal of the magnetometers, there was a deliberate attempt to weaponize a crowd while ensuring personal immunity from its wrath. “They’re not here to hurt me” is the ultimate admission of guilt. It proves with absolute clarity that the violence was not a surprise deviation from the plan; the violence was the plan.
While everyday citizens and law enforcement officers were left to face a mob that bypassed security to retain their weapons, the stage was intentionally set for chaos. To look at the historical record and still defend the events of that day requires a total rejection of reality. The magnetometers stayed up only because security officials refused to capitulate to madness, but the armed mob marched on the Capitol exactly as they were told to do.
