Donald Trump, an insurrectionist himself, is threatening to use the Insurrection Act if Minnesota authorities don’t act to stop protests and resistance efforts against ICE. We think he wants to use it as an excuse to postpone elections and keep him in power.
This is not the first time Trump has made this threat, and it won’t be the last.
A more important story today is the revelations coming out from leakers inside ICE and American citizens who’ve been released from detention centers.
Secret #1: ICE is intentionally arresting Americans and offering them money to help turn in undocumented neighbors and community organizers.
Some detention centers even have a “citizen wing” to keep arrested Americans from seeing the horrors that immigrants are being subjected to.
Patty O’Keefe and Brandon Siguenza were taken into custody by ICE for following and recording agents. They did not break the law.
Agents deployed pepper spray through their vehicle’s vents, broke their windows, dragged them out of the vehicle, and handcuffed them before transporting them to a detention center.
Once there, Brandon was escorted to an interrogation room where agents offered him legal protection for any undocumented family members and cash if he gave them the names of other immigrants and protest organizers.
Eight hours later, they were released without charges. Before they were free, Brandon was taken to an area where tear gas was deployed and he was shot with paintball rounds.
Secret #2: Federal agents are taking legal, documented immigrants and refugees from Minnesota to a Texas detention center for “review” of their legal status.
The status of the people taken there is unknown, and this story is still developing.
Secret #3: ICE is releasing immigrants who agree to act as informants for the Dept. of Homeland Security.
Documents leaked to Ken Klippenstein, one of the most trusted independent journalists in the country, exposed nearly two dozen internal ICE programs.
“Operation A” is a strategy deployed in detention centers to convert detainees into government informants who will spy on their communities for self-preservation.
“Operation Benchwarmer” describes using 2,000 plainclothes intelligence assets into processing centers, detention centers, and transport vehicles to secretly record everything detainees say.
Secret #4: DHS is attempting to tie every undocumented immigrant to Foreign Terrorist Organizations to justify future military action against countries like Venezuela.
“Operation Abracadbra” requires agents to interview every detainee with the purpose of “tying every individual who crosses the border illegally to a Foreign Terrorist Organization, a Transnational Criminal Organization, and/or utilizing the intelligence to develop targets.”
This information is coming out because some government employees, federal agents, and law enforcement officials are turning on the Trump administration.
Klippenstein’s source leaked these documents because he’s afraid of this regime’s larger war being carried out by ICE.
