Editor’s Note:

A delusion of grandeur, also known as grandiose delusion, is seen in people with other mental health conditions such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Patients with delusions of grandeur believe that they are wonderful, successful, more important than others, or even miraculous even when they are not.

About two-thirds of people living with bipolar disorder will experience some grandiose delusion. Grandiosity in bipolar disorder shows up along with other symptoms of mania, such as: an expansive or euphoric mood. talkativeness, pressured speech, and racing thoughts.
