Six men and three women found former President Donald Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation on Tuesday afternoon. The jury awarded approximately $5 million to the victim — sexual abuse of the magazine writer E. Jean Carroll.

The Wall Street Journal reports, “The verdict is a rebuke to Mr. Trump as he seeks the 2024 Republican presidential nomination while being dogged by a host of legal troubles. He is separately facing New York criminal charges connected to his payment of hush money to a porn star before the 2016 election, as well as other criminal investigations, related to the pressuring of Georgia officials after the 2020 election, his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, and his handling of classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago residence.”
